Nuvoton is committed to strengthening its MCU application strategy, optimizing specifications in various vertical domains, and covering a broad spectrum of applications from entry-level to high-performance. Our product lineup continuously delves into niche markets, providing customers with a more sustainable product portfolio. The latest Arm® Cortex®-M4 M433 CAN/USB FS series is optimized specifically for industrial control, Battery Management Systems (BMS), MiniLED control, and other fields. This product line is designed to be versatile, providing ample room for innovation while highlighting Nuvoton’s flexibility in serving high-versatility markets.
The M433 series is equipped with an Arm Cortex-M4F core, capable of running at speeds of up to 144 MHz while maintaining low power consumption. With a deep sleep mode power consumption of just 0.35 microamps, the series carefully considers the special requirements of various applications. Its high-speed and low-power characteristics make it ideal for applications requiring high-speed data acquisition, real-time control, and complex computational tasks. Additionally, the series features DSP instructions and a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU) extension, providing developers with more functionality and high-precision complex computing capabilities.
Featuring 128 KB of flash memory, 64 KB of SRAM (with 32 KB parity-checked), and operating voltages ranging from 1.8V to 3.6V, the M433 series offers rich peripheral support for various external devices. It supports 2 CAN interfaces, USB FS OTG, up to thirty-two 32/16-bit PWM channels, four UARTs, 2 SPI/I2S interfaces, 1 Quad-SPI, 2x I²C, QEI, and ECAP. The M433 CAN/USB FS series also provides rich analog peripheral support, including two analog comparators and sixteen 5MSPS high-speed 12-bit ADC channels. The chip supports 4 KB of secure protection memory (SPROM). Currently, the M433 series includes two 7x7mm package options: LQFP48 and LQFP64 versions.
The Nuvoton Cortex-M4 microcontroller family combines a precise understanding of existing customer needs with a keen awareness of new application potentials, resulting in comprehensive product optimization and improvements. In addition to the high-versatility M433 series, the NuMicro® Cortex-M4 microcontroller family includes several other series, covering applications ranging from entry-level to high-performance. For example, the M460 series provides up to 200 MHz operating frequency, supports Ethernet/Crypto security, and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. The M471 series is designed for applications such as smart home appliances, providing 120 MHz high-speed operation in a 5V working environment.
With the development software platform provided by Nuvoton, engineers can easily conduct development, improving development efficiency and shortening time-to-market. The Nuvoton NuMaker-M433SE development board and Nu-Link debugger are powerful tools for product evaluation and development. They also support third-party IDEs such as Keil MDK, IAR EWARM, and Nuvoton’s self-developed NuEclipse IDE, providing developers with more choices and convenience.
