Reed Relays from Pickering Electronics on show at electronica China 2024

Clacton-on-Sea, UK – Leading manufacturer of high performance reed relays, Pickering Electronics will showcase its comprehensive range of reed relays for high-end instrumentation, ATE (automatic test equipment) and semiconductor test – including its latest high-power reed relays, Series 144 – on booth #E7-7838 at the electronica China 2024, part of Messe München’s electronica series of events (that also includes Munich and India), taking place July 8th-10th, at Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai, China.

electronica China is China’s leading trade fair for innovative electronic components, systems, applications, and solutions. Founded in 2002, the show attracts around 50,000 visitors and connects them to over 1,100 exhibitors across 60,000 square meters of exhibition space. electronica China also features first-rate forums and supporting programs highlighting the latest market trends and technologies. Over 5,800 exhibitors and 200,000 visitors have combined at electronica’s global exhibition network in Munich, China and India to provide maximum opportunities for your business.

“As Pickering continuously improves its reed relay offering for instrumentation and ATE, we anticipate interest at electronica China from diverse sectors and applications, including mixed-signal semiconductor test, signal switching in medical electronics, EV charging, solar cell monitoring, and high voltage instrumentation,” commented Robert King, Product Development Manager at Pickering Electronics.

Ideal for mixed signal semiconductor testing, Pickering’s Series 144 is a range of single-in-line reed relays designed to handle power levels exceeding those of traditional dry SIL reed relays. Typically, standard dry relays are rated at 0.5 amps at 10 Watts. However, Series 144 reed relays offer significantly higher capabilities, with a switching current of up to 2 Amps, facilitating power delivery of up to 60 Watts, or 1 Amp for up to 80 Watts, and a continuous carry current of up to 3 Amps. Additionally, it boasts high-voltage capability, with a switching voltage of 1000VDC up to 10W and up to 3kV stand-off. Series 144 is Pickering’s smallest miniature SIP reed relay with a power rating up to 80 Watts. It combines the ability to effectively switch higher power with exceptional low-level performance, making it an ideal choice where both high-power and low-level switching capabilities are required. It also serves as a viable alternative to mercury wetted reed relays or miniature electromechanical relays (EMRs) due to their exceptional low-level performance and high isolation advantages.

Pickering’s comprehensive range of high-performance reed relays are ideal for many applications including mixed-signal semiconductor testers, in-circuit test equipment, high-end cable testers, backplane testers, EVs (electric vehicles), medical electronics, solar energy, big physics, and high voltage instrumentation.

Also at electronica China 2024, Pickering Group will showcase modular signal switching and sensor simulation technologies for electronic test and verification from its switching and simulation division, Pickering Interfaces, as well as cables and connectors from its interconnect division, Pickering Connect.
