Taipei, Taiwan : AAEON has introduced the BOXER-8621AI, built to support the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano system-on-modules (SOMs), which set a new baseline for edge AI and robotics, as announced by NVIDIA at GTC.
The system comes in two SKUs, the BOXER-8621AI-A1 and BOXER-8621AI-B1, hosting an array of features designed to channel the power of the new Jetson Orin Nano SOMs, with enhanced expandability for AI, 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, and storage modules. Further to this, the BOXER-8621AI will be purpose built for customers to take advantage of the Orin Nano’s inferencing capabilities, particularly for use in identity management, public safety, and traffic management
With this launch, AAEON continues to build on the significant momentum behind the NVIDIA Jetson Orin platform worldwide. These include the BOXER-8640AI and BOXER-8641AI, both based on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin production modules announced earlier this year. Customers can develop their edge AI, robotics, AIoT, and embedded solutions for the NVIDIA Jetson platform, and then deploy and scale their applications on the Orin Nano, AGX Orin, and Orin NX modules as they become available.
“With NVIDIA continuing to build on its world-class Jetson Orin platform, AAEON has the opportunity to provide customers with the newest and most innovative edge AI solutions across innumerable vertical markets,” Alex Hsueh, the Associate Vice President of AAEON’s System Platform Division noted, highlighting AAEON’s optimism about the release.
The BOXER-8621AI-A1 SKU will host the 4GB Jetson Orin Nano SOM, while the BOXER-8621AI-B1 SKU will integrate the 8GB SOM. Both SKUs are equipped with further storage available via an M.2 2280 M-Key expansion port. This high-speed storage will enable real-time object detection for public safety applications on the edge. Customers also have a selection of M.2 Key expansion ports enabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AI, and 4G/5G modules, providing exceptional edge computing potential for uses requiring greater connectivity at the edge, such as is required for smart city applications.
To fully utilize the AI capabilities of the Jetson Orin Nano, the AAEON system offers exceptional I/O and expansion options, with three USB Type A ports, DB-9 for RS-232/422/485 and CANbus, along with a HDMI 2.0 slot to assist with visual inferencing applications. These attributes provide an exceptional foundation for traffic and identity management deployments, with support for multiple cameras, high-definition display capabilities, and versatile connector configurations.
AAEON is an industrial AI hardware pioneer with a rich history of providing solutions for AI computing at the edge with platforms featuring the NVIDIA Jetson line of SOMs, as illustrated by its status as an Elite member of the NVIDIA Partner Network.
