Avnet Cares awarded ten community grants last month – including several programs addressing environmental challenges through education, innovation, and community service.
Avnet reviews grants on a quarterly basis and focuses on the areas of STEM, Environment and Communities in Crisis.
The Farmlink Project was awarded funding to help deliver approximately 500,000 meals. The project connects surplus produce to communities in need, reduces carbon emissions, and empowers the next generation of young changemakers. The Farmlink Project serves as a “link” connecting the broken supply chains of the agricultural and food access industries.
The Ribbit Network received support to expand its educational programming through STEAM-focused workshops in 2025-2026. Students, educators and citizen scientists will build and deploy IoT-based CO₂ “Frog Sensors” and engage in curriculum covering climate science, hardware engineering, and data analysis. The program expects to reach over 1,250 individuals.
Planet Bee Foundation will use its grant to deliver hands-on STEM and environmental programming to more than 600 students and community members. The foundation has educated over 750,000 students and community members using hands-on science lessons about the conservation of native bees and climate literacy.
Arizona Students Recycling Used Technology (AZ StRUT) was recognized for its work in diverting electronic waste from landfills while extending the life and impact of viable devices. The program directly impacts over 23,000 individuals per year.

- House of Refuge (Mesa)
- Southwest Human Development (Phoenix)
- Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley (Phoenix)
- Elevate Phoenix (Phoenix)
- Akron Children’s Museum (Ohio)
