Despite ongoing supply chain turbulence caused by product shortages, natural disasters, economic and political turmoil – Avnet made performance improvements in sustainability while helping customers and suppliers minimize disruption, overcome supply chain challenges and strengthen confidence in Avnet as a responsible sourcing partner.
Avnet has been given silver medal status for its sustainability performance from EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. Avnet was in the top 7% of companies rated in the “Wholesale of electronic and telecommunications equipment and sales” category.
“Our improved scores within the areas of environment, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement and maintaining our strong ethics score, have moved the company to the 80th percentile overall, earning the company a silver medal,” said Stacy Mendez, director, ESG and Corporate Strategic Planning, Avnet.
The EcoVadis overall score (0-100) reflects the quality of the company’s sustainability management system at the time of the assessment. Recognition levels are based upon the percentile rank of the score. For example, silver medal includes those in the top 25% with an overall score between 56 and 66.
Additionally, the scores provide guidance on strengths and improvement areas, which companies may use to focus their sustainability efforts and make continued improvements to their sustainability performance.
