Saelig Introduces New 4-channel PicoScope 9400A

The PicoScope 9404A scopes bring very high-speed performance at less than half the cost of other traditional benchtop solutions with four high-resolution 12-bit channels driven by up to 5TSa/s (0.2ps) equivalent-time sampling to 33GHz.

Fairport, NY. – Saelig Company, Inc. announces three new 4-channel PicoScope 9400A Series SXRTO Oscilloscopes with up to 33GHz bandwidth. The models are: 9404A-33 (33GHz), 9404A-16 (16GHz), and 9404A-06 (6GHz), which join the existing PicoScope 9404A-25 25GHz 4 channel Sampler-extended real-time oscilloscope. The oscilloscope’s 12-bit vertical resolution allows up to ±1V input signal range, with <12ps rise time, <1.5ps RMS jitter, and 12-bit resolution to make the 9400A Series a valuable tool for ultra-precise, wide-bandwidth signal analysis.

The PicoScope SXRTO triggers on the input signal, like an ordinary real-time oscilloscope, but builds up a complete picture of the signal by overlaying successive captures, but it can see repetitive signals far beyond the Nyquist sampling limit. The PicoScope 9404A captures step transitions down to 14ps and impulses down to 22ps wide. The maximum sample rate of 5TSa/s equates to a timing resolution of 0.2ps, using random sampling. Multiple trigger options include direct triggering on the signal or triggering on an external trigger signal, up to 20GHz (depending on model).

The PicoScope 9404A is equipped with PicoSample 4 PC software, allowing for easy instrument setup and waveform visualization. The touchscreen-compatible PicoSample 4 software is packed with features to simplify design and test: >200 mask tests for common protocols including SONET/SDH, fiber channel and USB; >70 automatic measurements across time, frequency and histograms available; >130 eye diagram measurement parameters; > 50 built-in math functions. The configurable display with multiple independent zoom regions shows every data detail and can take advantage of high-resolution PC monitors instead of limited built-in screens. The 9404A provides a wide array of signal integrity measurements, including pulse and timing performance, jitter analysis, RZ & NRZ eye diagrams and communications mask tests compliant with industry standards such as PCIe, GB Ethernet, and Serial ATA—delivering a comprehensive validation toolkit.

For OEM and custom integration, the PicoScope 9404A supports ActiveX remote control via the Windows COM interface standard, allowing seamless incorporation into user-designed systems. Since the measurement process used in the lab can be implemented identically in automation, the transfer from the lab to the production line is particular easy. Programming examples are provided in VB.NET, MATLAB and LabVIEW, ensuring compatibility with various development environments, including JavaScript and C.

The PicoScope 9404A high-performance sampling scopes are designed for demanding applications in high-speed electronics, telecom, semiconductors, and high-energy physics, such as: telecoms, radar & RF system testing, optical transceiver & laser diagnostics, gigabit digital design & validation, eye diagram, pulse, and signal integrity analysis, precision timing & phase measurements, etc. The 9404A scopes are compact enough to place on a workbench in close proximity to a device under test.

Made by Pico Technology, Europe’s award-winning test and measurement manufacturer, the PicoScope 9404A oscilloscopes are available now from Saelig Company, Inc. their USA technical distributor. For detailed specifications, free technical assistance, or additional information, please contact Saelig at 1-888-7SAELIG, via email: info@saelig.com, or by visiting https://www.saelig.com.
