Cambridgeshire – To support customer choice,Anglia Components Plc has launched a new limited company, ADIOS Electronics Ltd. However, unlike a traditional broker model where parts are sourced to customer requirement, ADIOS will hold inventory on popular products.
Comments John Bowman, marketing director: “There is a trend among certain large semiconductor manufacturers to reduce their distribution network. This, of course, reduces their operating costs and increases their profitability, whilst giving them an unhealthy leverage and restricting customer choice. … For over fifty years, Anglia has been guided by customer demand; the ADIOS investment over the last 12 months comes as a response to a real need from our customers
ADIOS creates a new distribution model that strategically merges the reliability of traditional distribution—such as robust inventory management, quality control and high service levels—with the agility and reach of a broker. At the same time, ADIOS unlocks access to a broader supplier base without the restrictions imposed by franchised lines, enabling exceptionally competitive pricing and faster sourcing across global markets. By combining these strengths, ADIOS aims to legitimise the traditional broker model and deliver a compelling value proposition: the assurance and professionalism of a distributor, with the flexibility and cost-efficiency of a broker.

ADIOS is launching offering semiconductors from key brands such as Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), Maxim and Linear Technology and, of course, ADIOS is AS9120 accredited.
Concludes Bowman: “We are taking a stand against suppliers that operate restrictive sales channels. We are firmly committed to giving customers the choice of where to buy semiconductors, and we believe that with the creation of ADIOS, completely separate from Anglia, we will be able to deliver on our promise to give customers what they need.”
