Mouser Electronics is providing engineers with the latest information in its extensive edge computing resource center. Reshaping how digital intelligence interacts with the physical world, edge computing moves computation closer to where data is created and away from cloud-first architectures.

Driven by the need for low latency and reliable operation during connectivity disruptions, processing data locally rather than in the cloud enables real-time applications directly on the device. As these systems scale, blockchain technologies are emerging as a critical trust layer at the edge, providing secure device identities, tamper-evident data logging, decentralized coordination, and authenticated firmware updates. Edge intelligence also underpins ambient computing, seamlessly blending technology into everyday life. In real-world applications, edge AI, combined with cellular IoT and machine vision, can deliver timely local interventions, such as pest detection and crop monitoring in agriculture. Overall, edge computing transforms devices from passive data collectors into autonomous, intelligent systems capable of operating reliably at scale.

Mouser’s technical team and trusted manufacturing partners tailor the content to provide a source of articles, blogs, eBooks, and new products for edge computing from top manufacturers. Recent eBook collabs with NXP and Micron, published on the online hub, offer engineers the expert knowledge they need, like security and regulatory compliance, and the various design challenges to develop innovative solutions for the edge.

For the newest products, Mouser stocks the industry’s widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, including the newest solutions for edge computing applications. Here are a few examples:

  • The UNO Q Platform by Arduino is a compact, cost-effective dual-brain solution that combines high-performance Linux® computing with real-time control by pairing the Qualcomm® Dragonwingâ„¢ QRB2210 processor with an STM32U585 microcontroller. Featuring a quad-core 2.0 GHz CPU, an Adreno GPU, integrated AI acceleration, and dual ISPs, it enables advanced edge workloads such as machine vision and multimedia processing in the familiar Arduino form factor.
  • The EdgeLock® A30 Secure Authenticator from NXP Semiconductors provides easy-to-integrate, high-assurance security for embedded and edge systems. It features advanced symmetric and asymmetric cryptography with AVA_VAN.5 protection. Certified to Common Criteria EAL 6+, the A30 supports low-power designs and simple MCU/MPU integration through an I2C interface operating up to 1 MHz
  • The RZ/G3E from Renesas Electronics is a versatile Arm® Cortex®-A55–based microprocessor designed for mid-range human machine interface (HMI) and edge computing applications. It features a quad-core 1.8 GHz processor with integrated 5G connectivity, a dedicated Cortex-M33 core, and an Ethosâ„¢-U55 NPU to enable efficient on-device AI processing.
  • The Kriaâ„¢ System-on-Modules (SOM) by AMD are purpose-built for edge deployment, delivering high-performance AI acceleration on the Zynq® UltraScale+â„¢ MPSoC platform. With both starter kits and production-ready SOMs, Kria simplifies system development and shortens time-to-market. Designed for long industrial lifecycles, Kria SOMs are rugged, adaptable, and future-ready, supporting evolving hardware and software requirements at the edge.
