SynQor, a franchised Astute manufacturer of rugged power conversion products, has expanded its Military COTS (MCOTS) product family with the new MCOTS-F-28-T-HE transient filter, designed for 28V military power systems requiring protection against high-energy voltage transients.

Transient protection is a persistent design requirement on military platforms, where power buses are exposed to switching transients, lightning-induced surges, and other high-energy events that can damage downstream electronics if not filtered at the source. The MCOTS-F-28-T-HE adds a qualified, off-the-shelf filtering option to SynQor’s existing MCOTS range, aimed at reducing the design and qualification burden for engineers who would otherwise need a custom transient protection solution.

For power systems engineers on military and aerospace platforms, a franchised, pre-qualified MCOTS filter reduces both schedule risk and the testing burden associated with a bespoke design — particularly valuable on programmes where MIL-STD-704 or MIL-STD-1275 transient requirements apply directly to the 28V bus.

SynQor’s continued expansion of the MCOTS family also signals ongoing investment in the rugged power conversion space at a time when platform electrification and increased onboard power demand are pushing more attention onto power quality and protection at the system level.

As a franchised SynQor distributor, Astute can support customers specifying the MCOTS-F-28-T-HE against a live 28V power architecture, including datasheet review and lead-time guidance.

Next steps

Request the MCOTS-F-28-T-HE datasheet via Astute to assess fit against your platform’s transient protection requirements.
