Łódź, Poland: TME the global, multimillion dollar revenue stockholding distributor of electronic components, is showcasing the Arduino VENTUNO Q, the most advanced platform in the history of Arduino, at this year’s electronica. Promoted under the slogan ‘Where AI takes action’, it is specifically designed for Edge AI, robotics and intelligent visions systems, translating AI decisions directly into real-time physical control.

One of the pillars of the Arduino VENTUNO Q platform is the Dual Brain architecture. It combines the performance of the Linux system with the capabilities of a real-time microcontroller, offering significantly greater hardware resources that enable the implementation of more demanding AI models and the realisation of more complex applications than with Arduino UNO Q.

The platform uses the Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ8 processor responsible for running the Linux system, AI models, and applications using image analysis or local language models. At the same time, the board features the STMicroelectronics STM32H5 microcontroller, based on the 32-bit Arm Cortex-M33 core running as high as 250MHz, responsible for deterministic device control, industrial interface management, and performing tasks requiring precise real-time response. Both systems work together through a remote procedure control (RPC) mechanism, creating a single development environment. This means that the designer does not need to choose between the performance of Linux platforms and the simplicity and capabilities of the Arduino ecosystem

The Arduino VENTUNO Q offers up to 40 TOPS of NPU computing power, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 64GB of eMMC memory with the option to expand with an NVMe drive. These parameters allow for the local execution of AI models used, among others, for image analysis, speech recognition and synthesis, and handling local language models. One of the elements that distinguish the Arduino VENTUNO Q from many embedded platforms is the support for three cameras with a MIPI CSI interface. This allows for simultaneous image analysis from multiple perspectives, significantly expanding the capabilities of systems using machine vision. In practice, this means the ability to build autonomous robots analysing the environment, monitoring systems using multiple observation points, or quality control solutions where images from several cameras allow for the detection of defects not visible from a single angle. Support for multiple cameras also opens the door to more advanced applications, such as depth analysis, object tracking, or vision systems for intelligent infrastructure.

The Arduino App Lab is a new working environment that integrates Arduino projects, applications running on the Linux system, and AI models within a single project. In one project, designers can use classic Arduino Sketch, Python scripts, and ready-made AI models running under Linux applications, without the need to switch between different tools. For beginners, ready-made applications, examples, and model libraries are prepared, while more advanced users can use their frameworks, Docker, or standard tools available in the Linux system.

One of the greatest advantages of Arduino VENTUNO Q is maintaining compatibility with solutions that have been part of the Arduino ecosystem for years. The platform works with Arduino UNO Shields, Modulino modules, and accessories using the Qwiic standard. Additionally, it is equipped with a popular 40-pin header, allowing the use of a wide range of available extensions. The whole is complemented by connectors intended for cameras, NVMe memory, and other expansion modules. From the designer’s perspective, this means the ability to build a complete system using not only the platform itself but also compatible cameras, data carriers, power supplies, communication modules, or automation elements available in the TME offer.

“The Arduino VENTUNO Q represents a major leap forward for engineers building the next generation of autonomous and industrial edge systems,” says Marcin Cichomski, Head of Semiconductor Product Group, TME. “By integrating massive AI processing power with precise real-time microcontroller performance on a single board, it significantly reduces system complexity and speeds up the journey from concept to deployment. We are excited to make this powerful platform available to our global customer base.”

Engineers and industry professionals are invited to meet the TME team during electronica in Munich, located at Booth 361, Hall B5 to discuss the Arduino VENTUNO Q platform.
