Electronics Era: Tell us about the Malitra’s journey into the EV sector?
Sirajuddin Ali: Malitra has been envisaged by technocrats with extensive experience in R&D, product engineering, and service. The idea was to leverage the strength of design and innovation in the burgeoning domain of EV. Within a year of inception, Malitra not only created its mark in product design but also in establishing its market presence.
Electronics Era: What products are you offering in the country?
Sirajuddin Ali: We offer a complete range of AC and DC chargers both in CCS and GB/T technology. Our chargers are well-suited for both domestic and commercial applications. Malitra is striving to provide its well-designed and engineered products to larger customers, especially to Charge Point Operators, builders, PSUs, and public and private institutions.
Electronics Era: How has been the response so far?
Sirajuddin Ali: The response from the market has been quite promising and has seen exponential growth recently. The number of existing public chargers in India has risen from 1800 to 16347 in the past two years. It indicates the great acceptance from the people of India towards a sustainable future. Malitra is also experiencing a great response from several customers.
Electronics Era: Tell us about your business model?
Sirajuddin Ali: Primarily, Malitra is an OEM for chargers and charger business but considering the supply and demand situation, Malitra may strategize its business position in an OPEX-based venture with its strategic partners.
