Electronics Era: How was the experience of Convergence India Expo for Anritsu India?
Madhukar Tripathi: We have been participating in Convergence India since last many years- possibly a decade now. It is good place for branding and re connect with customer and meeting potential buyers.
Convergence India also provides opportunity to learn- witness new technologies & products. There have been many tech companies which are startups, manufacturing or R&D. So this is program where you can expect a blend of various OEM, sellers, technology innovators and much more. Various conference secessions during the Convergence India 2023 made this more technical relevant – industry supportive program.
Electronics Era: What are the products that you are showcasing there?
Madhukar Tripathi: We have displayed limited solutions focusing Research & Development, Production and Field Testing in Convergence India 2023. Here is brief about each product we are displaying and their key application.
Universal Wireless Test Set Model MT8870A: This is multi-port, multi technology supported test instrument used in production of mobile handsets, IoT devices and CPE’s.
The Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A supports various wireless communications standards, including 5G NR Sub-6 GHz, LTE/LTE-Advanced, LTE-V2X, NB-IoT, Cat-M, V2X 802.11p, WLAN and Bluetooth for testing on mass-production lines for smartphones, automotive and IoT terminals and communications modules. Three types of MU887000A/MU887001A/MU887002A TRx test modules can be installed in the MT8870A main unit, each having a built-in vector signal generator and vector signal analyzer for Tx and Rx tests of mobile terminals and communications modules.
Bluetooth Test Set Model: MT8852B: The Bluetooth Test Set MT8852B is the market leading RF measuring instrument for design, providing production test for a wide range of products that integrate Bluetooth® technology. It supports Basic Rate (BR), Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) measurements of transmit power, frequency, modulation, and receiver sensitivity required by Bluetooth RF test specifications.
The MT8852B Bluetooth Test Set gives you a one-button test to fully characterize your Bluetooth implementation and ensure that quality is maintained. Initiating a script that tests a device in less than 10 seconds.
Vector Signal Generator MG3710E:
The Vector Signal Generator MG3710E is a best-of-class, multi-function, signal generator with excellent RF and baseband performance. The MG3710E features wideband vector modulation and offers built-in baseband waveform generation with large-capacity memory to ensure maximum versatility. It supports all key mobile communications and wireless LAN standards, and it also has the exceptional performance required for emerging and proprietary wireless communications technologies. Dual RF and Dual Waveform options enable a single MG3710E to output up to four independently modulated signals. The MG3710E makes it easy to implement complex test scenarios that would normally require multiple synchronized signal generators, such as:
- Wanted + Interference Signals for Receiver Blocking Testing
- Wanted + Two CW Tones for Receiver Intermodulation Testing
- Wanted + Delayed Signals for Multipath Testing
- Multiple Wanted Signals for MIMO Testing
- Multiple Wanted Signals for LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation Testing
For these multi-signal applications, the MG3710E eliminates the cost of extra signal generators, simplifies equipment setup and calibration, streamlines system operations and speeds measurement times.
LMR Master S412E: The LMR Master S412E is Anritsu’s second-generation solution for installing and maintaining public safety systems. Built on Anritsu’s ninth-generation handheld platform, this solution combines a high-performance receiver/spectrum analyzer with the world’s most advanced handheld vector network analyzer (VNA). It also includes a CW/P25 (Phase 1 & Phase 2), DMR (MotoTRBOâ„¢), TETRA, NXDNâ„¢, and PTC-ITCR plus PTC-ACSES analyzer and signal generator with internally adjustable power from 0 dBm to –130 dBm.
This instrument is ideal for land mobile radio (LMR) and professional mobile radio (PMR) technicians and engineers engaged in field testing the RF performance of NBFM, P25, P25 Phase 2 (TDMA), DMR (MotoTRBO), TETRA, NXDN, dPMR, and FDD & TDD LTE for commercial, public safety, maritime, and critical infrastructure radio systems. It also offers support for USA Class 1 and passenger railway Positive Train Control systems Interoperable Train Control Radio (ITCR) and Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES). For railway operators that use GSM-R systems, the LMR Master can be configured with GSM/GPRS/EDGE measurements.
MS2090A: Field Master Pro®: The Field Master Pro MS2090A Handheld Spectrum Analyzer delivers the highest continuous frequency coverage and real-time spectrum analysis bandwidth up to 100 MHz to address current and emerging applications including 5G.
Remote Spectrum Monitor:
The MS27103A remote spectrum monitor is designed to identify and locate interfering signals. This serves to optimize the user experience, a key goal for network operators. This translates into customer loyalty, reduced customer churn and superior brand.
Additionally, DAS systems are being deployed extensively around the world to provide high data capacity in dense user environments. These include transport hubs, sports stadiums and shopping malls. From a single equipment room, multiple feeds pan out to a distributed array of antennas. Monitoring for interference signals on each of these RF feeds is essential to maintain capacity for the DAS system. The MS27103A is the perfect monitoring solution for DAS systems to help maintain overall system performance.
Network Master Pro® Model MT1000A: The compact, battery-powered and easy-to-use Anritsu Network Master Pro MT1000A with 10G Multirate Module MU100010A has everything in a single, handy tester needed to install and maintain communication networks from 1.5 Mbps to 10 Gbps. In addition, MT1000A with High Performance GPS Disciplined Oscillator MU100090A can measure a time synchronization error required in a mobile network with high resolution. Anritsu Network Master Pro MT1000A is the All-in One field test equipment of B5 size excellent in expandability and operability, combined 10G / 100G Ethernet, OTN, SONET/SDH, OTDR, PTP and CPRI modules, having the automating testing function
Electronics Era: What are the latest Test & Measurement tech trends that you are assuming?
Madhukar Tripathi: Test & Measurement is evolving with technical advancements. Today’s customers are expecting a future poof, more energy efficient, more automation and built in intelligence in test instruments at same time cost effective too. Anritsu fits these check points and will continue to improve our test solution for customers. It will enable customers to develop design, produce good quality products. On the other hand, we have seen demand for higher speed, higher frequency, higher bandwidth test solutions. We have already started working for 6G technology and Anritsu Vector Star® will play an important role in 6G technology development. Broadband, Data Centre, Electric Vehicle, Autonomous Vehicle , Industry 4.0 etc. are growing market fueling T&M demand.
Electronics Era: What are your marketing plans for the year 2023?
Madhukar Tripathi: Anritsu is investing in marketing activities worldwide and we plan to use hybrid mode of marketing. This means we will participate in many industry programs- exhibitions, conferences, workshops followed by digital marketing during 2023. Using these methods we will reach to our customer and keep them updated with new technical advancement and open door for further cooperation to develop a sustainable, safer, connected society.
Electronics Era: Is there any upcoming product that Anritsu going to launch in India?
Madhukar Tripathi: Anritsu has always been investing in new technologies, product development. For sure we shall be updating our product to meet customers demand in India and worldwide. We plan to launch few products in FY2023-2024.
