Chennai, India — JCBL Marrel Tippers Limited (JML), a JCBL Group company proudly announces a significant leap in its sustainability journey. Recently, the company inaugurated a groundbreaking rooftop solar facility at its Chennai unit. At an initial investment of Rs 1.2 crores, the first phase of the rooftop solar project underscores JML’s dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and embracing renewable energy solutions. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. Rishi Aggarwal, MD, JCBL Group.
The inauguration event marks the completion of the first stage of the project. The total project capacity will be 1500 KW, with a total cost amounting to 6 crore rupees. Once the complete project is operational, it will produce 7500 units of electricity daily, surpassing the plant’s daily consumption needs. The excess power generated will be sold externally, contributing to additional revenue streams for the company and further solidifying its commitment to sustainable practices.
JML is expected to generate approximately 1500 units of electricity daily from 9 am to 6 pm with the first phase of the project. It is poised to meet 50% of the unit’s daytime power requirements. Any surplus energy produced during non-operational hours will seamlessly integrate into the power grid, rendering the unit self-sufficient and generating additional revenue for the company.
