Mumbai : Highness Microelectronics Pvt Ltd (HighnessMicro) has specialized in Digital-Imaging products for over two decades now. It has supplied Displays for Indian Railways, various Metro & Monorail Systems in India- the displays that are used for on-board and off-board application. On-board application include Displays for Driver Cabin, Displays for Dynamic Route Map as well as Display systems for Passenger Information System (PIS / PAPIS) while off-board application are displays used for Automatic Fare Collection System at Flap Gates, Station Displays for Passenger Information System and Displays for Ticketing Kiosks.
HighnessMicro is glad to have partnered with Avantel Ltd of Hyderabad for supplying Displays that are being installed in all Locomotives. These Displays are part of a complete system known as Real Time Train Information System (RTIS) that helps Indian Railways gather real time information of a trains such as its movement including arrival and departure at a station, its run-through and speed. Each of these RTIS system has a 7” Capacitive touch display that is indigenously designed, developed and integrated by HighnessMicro in India under Government’s Make In India program. The RTIS system relays relevant information of the train through Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) Satellite Communication (SatCom) system to a central server of Railways Centre of Railway Information System (CRIS). This entire system helps Indian Railways track a train’s position & movement without any manual intervention.
HighnessMicro has been developing displays for this system for several years and over 2700 units -under implementation Phase I and 100 units -under Phase II are already deployed on field; with Phase II scheduled for 6000+ units, coming months will see several thousands more in every locomotive across the network.
