Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation (HHSIF), the philanthropic arm of Honeywell, has successfully completed the redevelopment of the first village, Fulgaon, under its project ‘Anand Gaon’. This project is an initiative by Honeywell to improve the quality of life for the rural communities in the vicinity of Honeywell entities by providing infrastructure support and basic amenities. Fulgaon village Panchayat of Maharashtra was adopted in the year FY 2022-23 as the first village under the project ‘Anand Gaon’.
Today, on the day of UN’s ‘International Day of Happiness’ Honeywell conducted the handover ceremony of “Anand Gaon’. This is under the Holistic and Sustainable Community Development thematic focus of HHSIF.
The HHSIF partnered with Americares India Foundation (AIF) and the staff of HHSIF and AIF, with the support of local leadership at HAIL plant in Fulgaon conducted a need assessment and interacted with the Panchayat members to understand the requirement. Based on the request and assessment study, Honeywell earmarked resources to upgrade the school and provided solar streetlights to the village, and solar panels to the panchayat office and make the school energy efficient.
The upgraded amenities will put a smile on the face of 300+ rural children and will impact the lives of 10,000+ population. The refurbished school and other facilities were unveiled and handed over by Mr. Ashish Gaikwad, managing director, Honeywell Automation India Limited on behalf of Honeywell, to Mrs. Mandakini Sakore, president, Gram Panchayat, Fulgaon.
