Hsinchu, Taiwan – The NuMicro® M2A23 series is a 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M23 microcontroller launched by Nuvoton, designed to meet the demanding requirements of automotive and industrial control. It can withstand environmental temperatures of up to 125°C and operates within a wide voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, featuring three CAN FD interfaces and a LLSI interface. This makes it highly suitable for various in-vehicle CAN signal modules and interior/ exterior lighting control applications.

The M2A23 series is equipped with an Arm Cortex-M23 core, with a maximum operating frequency of 72 MHz. The series offers up to 256 KB of embedded Flash memory, 24 KB of SRAM, 4 KB of Flash loader memory (LDROM), and 2 KB of SPROM for customizable storage of various codes such as version data, without the risk of being erased by whole chip erase. It supports multiple boot loader interfaces, including CAN FD, SPI, UART, and I2C. Additionally, it features up to six PDMA channels for efficient data transfer, reducing CPU load and ensuring smooth system operation. It also provides 12-channel 144 MHz PWM outputs for precise task scheduling, making it suitable for real-time applications.

In terms of communication, the M2A23 series integrates multiple communication features, including a LIN interface, two UART interfaces with support for One-Wire, IrDA, and RS485 functionality, an I2C interface, an SPI interface, and two USCI modules that can be configured as UART, I2C, or SPI. The three CAN FD interfaces ensure compatibility with modern automotive and industrial network standards. Analog features include two comparators and a 12-bit ADC, supporting sampling rates of up to 2 Msps (2 million samples per second), with 16 channels and a built-in temperature sensor for reliable data acquisition.

The M2A23 series offers various package options, including QFN48 (5mm x 5mm), LQFP48 (7mm x 7mm), and LQFP64 (7mm x 7mm), with the largest package supporting up to 55 general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins.

The NuMicro® M2A23 series microcontrollers are perfect for automotive and industrial applications. They offer high-temperature resistance and advanced CAN FD functionality. In automotive systems, they power in-vehicle networks and body control devices. In industrial automation, they excel in motor control and sensor data processing. These microcontrollers are set to transform the automotive and industrial sectors with their robust features and capabilities.

Multiple IDEs such as Keil MDK with free-to-use full version, IAR EWARM, and Nuvoton-owned NuEclipse are supported. In addition, easy-to-use software development tools including PinView, PinConfig to speed up time to market.
