onsemi will showcase the company’s latest solutions at the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) in Orlando, March 19-23. Focusing on the practical and applied aspects of power system design, APEC is the leading conference in North America for the power electronics industry.
The onsemi booth will feature a diverse range of demos for the industrial and automotive markets, including an area dedicated to the onsemi EliteSiC Silicon Carbide (SiC) family, complete with an EV charging station. Another showcase will demo the latest industrial power supply and charging solutions: a 6.6/11 kW PFC inverter, an ultra-high density 240 Watt (W) USB PD 3.1 solution and a 600 W battery charger. Booth visitors can also see the crowd-favorite autonomous mobile robot with a collaborative robot (cobot) arm.
At the event, onsemi will introduce and demo a new state-of-the-art simulator for the EliteSiC family. The online tool allows engineers to virtually test and validate EliteSiC products through an expansive library of customizable circuit technologies. When the simulator is used with advanced PLECS models, engineers can gather meaningful insights into the application at a very early stage of the design cycle without relying on hardware fabrication and testing. APEC attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the tool in two presentations by onsemi technical experts:
- ‘Online SiC System Level Simulator Driven by Advanced PLECS Models’, Didier Balocco, Tuesday, March 21, 3:45-4:15 p.m.
- ‘A Virtual Prototyping System for Silicon Carbide Power Modules’, James Victory, Thursday, March 23, 11:30-1:30 p.m.
Alongside the simulator, onsemi will announce a new series of 1200 V Trench Field Stop VII (FS7) IGBTs. The devices provide low switching loss and optimized switching to provide high-efficiency operation in various industrial applications, including motor control, uninterruptable power supply (UPS) and solar applications.
