New Delhi– Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, visited exhibitors at SEMICON India 2025 in New Delhi today, highlighting India’s growing prowess in the semiconductor sector. Over the last four years, the show has emerged as a crucial platform for industry leaders and innovators to showcase advancements and collaborations in the field.

PM Modi visited the ‘Startup Mitra Pavilion’ at SEMICON India 2025, a platform initiated by IESA’s ‘Startup Mitra’ program, aimed at promoting innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth in India’s Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector. The pavilion showcased innovations from promising startups offering them a platform to connect with industry leaders, venture capitalists, and OEMs, and highlighting India’s growing innovation ecosystem in the semiconductor sector

Ashok Chandak, CEO & President, SEMI India and IESA said, “The core objectives of Startup Mitra include structured support to startups through mentorship, promotion of both central and state government policies, assistance in preparing documentation and application procedures, guidance on IPR and patent filing, and connecting them with VCs or funds for investment. In addition, several member companies of IESA and SEMI are supporting startups with components, test and measurement instruments, and tools—collectively creating an enabling environment for startups to take a major leap with their project ideas. We wholeheartedly agree with the Honourable Prime Minister that simplifying communication is crucial, enabling the general public to grasp the benefits of technological innovations and become part of the collective vision.”

PM Modi congratulated the organizers and innovators at the pavilion, including Ashok Chandak, President, SEMI India and IESA, Ms. Vrinda Kapoor, CEO & founder, 3rd iTech, Pratap Narayan Singh, CTO & founder, Vervesemi Microelectronics, Gautam Kumar Singh, CEO, Fermionic Design, Anantha Kinnal – Chairman & CEO, Calligo Technologies and Jyothis Indirabhai – CEO, Netrasemi. He also showed interest in strategic warfare–related demonstrations and a high-performance computing chip capable of saving nearly 80% in power consumption, highlighting his concern and commitment toward energy conservation.

During his visit, PM Modi explored some of the innovations and breakthroughs from industry leaders like LAM Research, Micron India, Tokyo Electron Limited, KLA-Tencor, Tata Electronics, CG Semi, IBM, ASML, Kaynes Technologies , Applied Materials, Delta Electronics, and Disco Hi-Tec. The Prime Minister also visited country pavilions by Japan, Singapore, Korea and Malaysia who were showcasing their contributions to the global semiconductor value chain.

The three-day event features over 1,275 booths, with participation from 48 countries and has attracted over 20,000+ participants, including 2,500 global delegates, 50+ CXOs and 350+ exhibitors. The event aims to strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem, showcasing cutting-edge technology, investment opportunities, and collaborative innovations in the industry.
