Gmunden – Miniature AC/DCs have comprehensive certifications for world-wide use. Austria-based RECOM, known for their wide range of cost-effective power conversion products, have added a new AC/DC range to their portfolio. The RACM15E-K series is rated up to 15W output for 80-275VAC input and is available in two mechanical formats: the open-frame /OF version with ‘MolexTM’ connectors, sized 3.1 x 0.9 x 0.8 inches (80 x 23.8 x 22mm) and a /PMAD version with IP20-rated enclosure for chassis or DIN rail mounting and Push in Terminals that accept stranded and solid wire, sized 3.2 x 1.1 x 1.1 inches (83 x 26.4 x 29.5mm). The parts fit a standard 1.5 ‘module’ DIN rail slot with no restriction on spacing to adjacent modules.
Single regulated outputs available are 3.3V (12W-rated), 5, 12, 15, 24, and 30VDC rated at 15W, all fully protected against over-voltage, overload and short circuits. In overload, the parts have a constant current limit characteristic, suitable for non-linear loads, with a self-resetting ‘hiccup’ mode for short circuits. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, derating from 50°C ambient in still air.
The RACM15E-K series holds comprehensive certifications: IEC/EN 62368-1, IEC/EN 60335-1, IEC 61558 and IEC 60601-1/ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 for safety. In medical applications, the parts are rated 2 x MOPP, over-voltage category II (OVCII) to 5000m altitude and meet ‘BF’ touch current specifications for applied-part applications. The parts can be used in OVCIII environments up to 3000m according to IEC 61558-2-16 and IEC 60335-1. No load current is typically less than 100mW to meet eco-design requirements and conducted EMI standard EN 55032 Class B is met with a floating load.
Due to their high efficiency, up to 86%, the RACM15E-K parts are cool-running and achieve long life and high reliability, with an MTBF of over 1M hours according to MIL-HDBK-217, ground benign environment.
Typical applications for the series include industrial automation, industrial measurement equipment, medical homecare devices, building automation, monitoring, and household equipment.
Michael Schrutka, MSc. product manager AC/DC of RECOM comments – “These AC/DCs are easy to integrate into any system with their ‘plug and play’ connections and comprehensive certifications.”
Parts include a three-year warranty, and samples and OEM pricing are available from authorized distributors, or directly from RECOM.
