Wisbech – Anglia Components has responded to concerns in the market that lead times are predicted to move out rapidly later in the year now that the market appears to be picking up. News from many sources confirm that the excess inventory which has built up over the past two years has mostly been consumed, and at least one major supplier, Texas Instruments, has announced global price increases covering over 3,300 analogue product SKUs. Analyst company, Bernstein noted that the majority of the price hikes are below 30%, targeting general-purpose analogue components where competition is fierce…a smaller portion of high-precision ADC/DAC chips, will see price increases exceeding 100%.
Comments John Bowman, Anglia’s Marketing Director: “All the signs are showing that the market is picking up rapidly, and the theme from many suppliers at our recent sales conference centred on their concerns that if customers do not start placing backlog now, they will run into problems later this year as lead-times are forecast to quickly lengthen.”
In order to protect themselves from the inevitable supply chain chaos this will cause, Anglia is advising customers to be vigilant and requests that they place forward orders as soon as possible.
