celduc® relais is a French manufacturer of solid state relays, magnetic sensors, Reed relays, and switches, which was established in 1964.
With over 60 years of experience, celduc® has focused on the manufacture of high-reliability switching and sensing devices. Our expertise in the design and manufacture of Solid State Relays, Magnetic Sensors, Reed Relays and Switches for industrial applications has given us access to major markets around the world. With almost 200 full-time employees in 4 countries on 3 continents and an extensive network of stocking distributors worldwide, we are proud to manufacture more than 1 million relays per year, thus contributing to the promotion of French industrial know-how and “100% Made in France” quality.
Solid State Relays for complex applications
Solid State Relays (SSRs) are designed to control all types of loads and are used in many industries such as industrial heating, temperature control, motor control, automation interfaces, etc. SSRs are fully electronic and have no mechanical moving parts. As a result, they have a longer service life than electromechanical relays (EMRs). Furthermore, their semiconductor-based design makes them environmentally friendly.
Celduc® SSRs are renowned for their high reliability and long electrical life. By limiting equipment failures and maintenance, our SSRs offer long term cost of ownership savings; once installed, the units remain operational almost indefinitely.
Multiple installation options covering a wide range of voltages and currents
Celduc® solid state relays are available in panel, DIN rail and PCB mount versions. They are also available in a wide range of ratings up to 125 A and 660 VAC. Depending on the user’s preferences and space availability, celduc® relais offers different package styles that allow the SSRs to be mounted in a variety of ways.
Quick and easy connections
Screw-terminal solid-state relays are commonly used in industrial applications. However, celduc® offers several different connection types to provide greater flexibility and meet the needs of different applications.
Alongside our standard hockey puck style SSRs with screw terminals, we offer Solid State Relays with push-in spring terminals, providing significant time and cost advantages over the entire lifespan of a system. Faster commissioning reduces initial costs and maintenance-free connections provide long-term savings. Furthermore, the maintenance-free push-in technology offers increased system uptime and equipment reliability.
Moreover, celduc® also manufactures solid-state relays with fast-on terminals, which are easy to clip on without using screws.
The advantages of using solid-state relays with fast-on connections are as follows:
- Inexpensive terminals
- Simple, fast and without special tools (“Fast-on” !)
- Reliable to connect at low currents
- No need for preventive electrical maintenance (tightening connections)
« Ready to use » versions with integrated heatsink
celduc® offers complete assemblies consisting of a solid-state relay plus optimised heatsink, ready to use out of the box, to simplify selection and application. They are available with defined rated currents to make the selection process as easy as possible.
These units can be easily installed onto a standard mounting rail or onto mounting plates with fixing screws.
New SMQR series
Get four independently controlled AC output solid state relays in an industry standard package with our new SMQR series. With the SMQR and SCQ models, celduc® relais offers a choice of push-in or Fast-on terminals.
celduc® four-channel Solid State Relays are ideal for applications where space is limited.
Four-channel SSRs can be used for temperature control in a cooking oven or injection moulding machine. Each output can be in control of a single heating element.
Solid state relay with diagnostics
To enable machine builders to make informed decisions, solve urgent problems quickly and develop more autonomous machines, it is essential to collect and analyse data from the various components within the machine. celduc® relais has developed a range of power SSRs with diagnostics for this purpose.
- To detect load failures, blown fuses, heat zone status, damaged and interrupted SSRs.
- Reduced unplanned downtime
- Predictive and better preventive maintenance plans
This range of products is suitable for applications where monitoring of field level devices is a must in order to minimise costly downtime. Our range is suitable for heating applications including:
- Plastic injection moulding machines
- PET blow moulding machines
- Packaging machinery
- Semiconductor production machinery
- Glass tempering machines
Our range of diagnostic relays is available in celpac® (22.5 wide case) with integrated heatsink (SILD series) and okpac® (hockey puck case) with our SOD and SOI references.
SOD/SILD ranges:
These relays provide a normally closed (NC) diagnostic contact to inform the user of the status of the load (resistive load), the relay output and the network.
No external power supply is required (celduc® patent) for the diagnostic function. Several relays can be daisy-chained. It is possible to use these relays to diagnose a three-phase starred network without neutral.
Typical applications : Applications where, due to the high speed of the process (e.g. food or pharmaceutical packaging), the problem must be detected immediately.
Our SOI range includes both a current transformer (CT) and a signalling contact. This allows the load current to be switched, providing only the information that the output current is present, which must then be interpreted by the user or system.
ESUC current monitoring module : 1 relay for several loads + compact and turnkey solution
This optional module can be plugged directly onto the SU / SUL / SUM solid state contactor. It permanently measures the load current.
Up to 5 heating elements can be diagnosed in parallel.
The current value is compared via the “Teach” button or the “External Teach” input with a reference value stored during initialisation.
Typical applications : Applications in which the heating zones are made up of several heating elements (e.g. underfloor heating in trains).
For diagnostics on three-phase loads, celduc® relais has designed the SMB8670910 with auxiliary contacts.
An auxiliary contact allows detection of various faults on the load (open) or on the SSR (short circuit). The status (static output) is normally closed if there is no fault on the relay or on the load. The status is open in the event of a fault.
For group status information, the status outputs can be daisy chained.
Typical applications: three-phase applications where high speed processes require immediate problem detection (e.g. food or medical packaging).
Multizone power controller
A new multizone power controller for infrared lamp control has been launched by celduc® relais.
The technology used is based on solid-state relays for power combined with complex electronics, enabling precise and efficient power control of up to 12 lamps.
A software program informs the PLC about the operating status and possible faults in the production process.
Heat plays a key role in many industrial processes and maintaining it at a precise and accurate level is often essential to ensure high product quality. All of the functions required for precise and accurate temperature control have been combined in this space-saving solution for faster integration into the equipment.
Main characteristics of the multizone power controller :
- Controls a maximum of 12 IR channels (4kW max. per channel and 36kW max. per box)
- U² type mains variations compensation (syncopated)
- Fault Detections:
- broken lamp < 250 ms
- over/undervoltage
- overheating
- fuse failure
- thyristor short-circuit
- fan issues
- Built-in protection against short circuits, dv/dt transients and overvoltages
- Control and Diagnostics using Profibus DP
