The new SMARC 2.1 compatible embedded module TQMxE41S from TQ-Embedded is available with the Intel Atom® processors x7000E Series, Intel® Core™ i3-N305 and Intel® Processor N Series processors introduced by Intel at the beginning of 2023. The German technology company TQ-Group is thus adding seven new processor variants to its range of embedded modules, which cover many application areas such as robotics, industrial automation, AI-capable image processing and video transcoding in a pin-compatible design in the CPU power range 6 W to 15 W. The module combines high CPU and graphics performance (incl. increased AI acceleration) with a variety of high-speed interfaces such as 2 x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, 4 x PCIe, USB 3.2 and SATA in a very compact design. The high system performance is supported by the latest LPDDR5-4800 memory and up to 256 GB Industrial iNAND eMMC. Many other interfaces ensure easy connection of numerous peripheral components. For the connection of high-resolution displays, three independent graphics outputs are available, including eDP/LVDS, DP++ and HDMI.

Harald Maier, product manager for the x86 segment at TQ explains: “The new Gracemont CPU microarchitecture as well as the integrated Intel UHD graphics Gen12 with up to 32 execution units, both adapted from the 12th generation Intel® Core™ processors, set new standards in the areas of power efficiency, CPU single-thread/multi-thread performance as well as multimedia and AI in this particularly small form factor.” For the first time in this performance segment, AVX256 and advanced AI instruction sets (VNNI) as well as Intel Deep Learning Boost are also supported. Together with the enhanced security features including TPM 2.0, the module is also particularly well suited for applications in the healthcare, IoT, retail and video & conferencing sectors.

The mass production launch is planned for the first half of 2023. Various carrier boards and starter kits are available for rapid evaluation.
