Cambridgeshire, UK – ADIOS, the responsible outsourcing company formed last year in the wake of significant supply chain changes and increased prices, is now listing approaching 700,000 parts from more than 30 global brands, offered at prices up to 30% lower than conventional distribution channels. Devices available include analog ICs, MCUs and FPGAs and the range is expanding daily.
Asserts ADIOS’ CEO, Steve Rawlins: “This is not traditional brokering. We only supply current parts and we do not deal in obsolete devices. We hold inventory and sell from a parts list built from reputable, rigorously audited suppliers; we are not back-to-back trading. These are genuine devices, intelligently and responsibly sourced that we can offer at extremely competitive prices.”
In recent years, several major US brand IC manufacturers have rationalised their supply chains, concentrating distribution among a small number of large global distributors. This shift has made it increasingly challenging for small and mid-sized UK & European companies to secure the components they need. At the same time, the dominance of large global CEMs has created, at a minimum, a two-tier pricing structure, with significant volumes of lower-cost inventory concentrated within these channels. Against this backdrop, the traditional broker market has become more complex to navigate, and the risk of counterfeit or non-conforming components entering the supply chain has increased. This is often driven by attempts to resolve acute obsolescence or shortage issues, sometimes necessitating sourcing from less transparent channels.
ADIOS provides a new model. The intelligent, responsible outsourcing company has spent a great deal of time evaluating established suppliers with rigorous procedures for ensuring that all parts supplied are genuine. ADIOS also holds significant levels of inventory in the UK, not something traditional brokers do, and has invested in state-of-the-art component verification equipment from ABI Electronics Ltd. The company is also certified to AS9120.
Summarises Rawlins: “Everything we do starts with the customer. Large corporation priorities can move with the markets, but our focus, as a key part of the supply chain, is constant, finding smarter ways to deliver what customers need, exactly when they need it.”
