Wisbech- Anglia is the recent recipient of Deep Sea Electronics’ Supplier Excellence in Sustainability award, which is presented to companies for outstanding commitment to sustainable operating practices.
Deep Sea Electronics are one of the world’s leading manufacturers of generator controllers, auto transfer switch controllers, battery chargers and vehicle and off-highway controllers. For several decades Anglia has been a key supply chain partner for Deep Sea. John Bowman, Anglia’s Marketing Director, commented: “We believe that the strong emphasis we place on being a Carbon Neutral, sustainable company allows us to realise cost efficiencies for our customers. We are delighted to receive this award from Deep Sea Electronics which recognises our commitment to excellence in sustainability.”
Anglia has tackled the environmental challenge using a wide range of effective strategies and projects. The company has introduced new, recyclable and – where possible – biodegradable packaging, which is sourced sustainably and promoted to be recycled. As well as smart building practices at Anglia’s offices and distribution centre, AI is also employed to reduce shipment miles and CO2 footprint.
Another significant development made by Anglia, at the beginning of 2024, was the expansion of the Anglia Live eCommerce platform to Europe. The company now offers a rapid one- or two-day delivery service for UK and European customers via its UK distribution centre. Shipping goods from the UK is more sustainable, producing seven times less CO2 versus shipping the same goods from the US to Europe. To complement their sustainability program, Anglia are also continually introducing new ways to promote a circular economy with their customers.
