Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar – Ather Energy, one of India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturers, today signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with four educational and skill-development institutions in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to strengthen the region’s talent pipeline for the electric vehicle and manufacturing sectors.
The MoUs were signed with the International Centre of Excellence in Engineering and Management (ICEEM), ISIEINDIA Private Limited, Yashodeep Knowledge Hub and Jijamata ITI, Shevgaon. The initiative comes as Ather expands its manufacturing footprint in the region with its new facility at AURIC, and is designed to develop the skilled workforce needed to support the facility and the wider industrial ecosystem around it.
Under the MoUs, Ather will work with the four institutions on EV-focused curriculum design, faculty development, technical training and practical, industry-linked learning. Students and faculty will gain exposure to EV technologies and modern manufacturing practices through engagement with Ather’s technical and manufacturing teams, covering areas such as emerging EV technologies, manufacturing processes, and safety and quality practices.

For us at Ather, it also opens a direct channel to these institutions and students, helping us understand their aspirations so that industry can adapt to what this talent actually needs, rather than the other way around. Over time, this can build a strong talent pool for the region and for the broader manufacturing ecosystem.”

Alongside its manufacturing expansion at AURIC, Ather is building a local talent pipeline to support its operations and contribute to the region’s wider industrial base. The initiative will strengthen the connection between technical education, practical skills and industry as India’s EV and manufacturing ecosystem continues to scale.
