PHOENIX – Avnet, a leading global technology distributor and solutions provider, has been recognized by General Motors as a 2025 Supplier of the Year in the Creativity Team of Semiconductors category. The award honors suppliers who deliver outstanding performance, partnership and innovation in support of GM’s global operations.

GM recognized Avnet for its long-standing collaboration and ability to support the automaker through period of significant industry disruption. Over the past five years, Avnet has worked closely with GM to help address supply chain challenges and enable resiliency during times of uncertainty. This recognition reflects Avnet’s commitment to collaboration and creative thinking when responding to complex challenges.

“This award is really about the relationship we’ve built with GM over time,” said David Paulson, Global Vice President of Avnet Velocity. “Trust is the foundation. Our role is to listen, understand the problem they’re trying to solve, and work alongside them. The ultimate goal of our collaboration with customers such as GM is to enable supply chain continuity built on global visibility, partnership and execution.”

Creativity sits at the center of Avnet’s work with GM and was a key factor in earning this recognition. By listening closely to GM’s challenges and architecting creative, customer‑first supply chain solutions, Avnet helped support continuity during periods of disruption by enabling solutions orchestrated throughout GM’s broader automotive ecosystem.

“Supplier of the Year is one of those key moments our whole team looks forward to every year because it highlights the partnerships behind every vehicle we build,” said Shilpan Amin, Senior Vice President, Global Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, General Motors. “The results our suppliers deliver throughout the entire product development cycle are central to our ability to deliver world-class vehicles to our customers. When our suppliers, such as Avnet, lean in with us on new technology and flawless execution, we can move faster, compete harder and unlock more value across the entire supply chain.”

The award also underscores the cultural alignment between the two organizations. Over time, Avnet and GM have developed a deep, collaborative relationship grounded in shared values and trust — a foundation that continues to strengthen as the companies work together to support GM’s automotive ecosystem amid a dynamic regulatory, trade and technology environment.
