For over 20 years, Avnet has supported the individual volunteer efforts of its employees through its Avnet Cares matching programs. The “Dollars for Doers” program matches employee volunteer time at $10 an hour, up to 200 hours per year.
In 2024, Avnet processed over $90,000 in donations to 86 organizations across the Americas region. Some of the donations included Guardian Angel Pet Rescue in Michigan, Red Bucket Equine in California, Note-Ably Chorus in Texas and Meals on Wheels in Minnesota. Employees can volunteer for any cause that is special to them and receive a donation to support their efforts.
Teams that volunteer as a group can have their time matched as well. Avnet has a team in Lexington, KY, that volunteers every month serving meals to the unhoused in their local community. Their hours and team time are added up throughout the year, culminating in a donation.
In addition, Avnet’s “Connecting for a Cause” program matches fundraising efforts of employees. If a group of Avnet employees work together to fundraise for an event or cause, Avnet will match their effort.
Each August, a group of women in Chicago participates in a cycling event that benefits their local Easter Seals organization. Last year, a large group walked in the Strides Against Breast Cancer event in Tempe, AZ. In the past year alone, Avnet donated over $65,000 to 21 employee-led fundraising events.
