Bangalore, India – element14, an Avnet community, in partnership with Infineon Technologies, presents the “At the Core” Design Challenge and webinar featuring the newly unlocked Cortex-M0+ Dual Core on the PSoCTM 62S4 with Infineon’s ModToolsbox TM 3.0 Platform. Design challenge participants will develop projects utilizing the Cortex-M0+ low power modes and the Cortex-M4 power. A webinar discussing the core of the PSoC TM 62S4 will take place on November 10, 2022.

Thirty applicants will be chosen to participate in the challenge and become the sponsored challengers. They will receive the PSoC™ 6S24 + Pioneer Kit for free to incorporate into their project. Sponsored challengers are required to:

  • Use ModusToolbox TM  3.0 development environment as well as demonstrate use of both M0 and M4 cores in their project
  • Post their progress and final project as at least 5 blog post before the closing date
  • Posts that show inter-core communication and are media rich with Photos, Videos and Code samples will be viewed more favorably in the Judging Process

“We are extremely excited to be partnering again with Infineon Technologies. In the past, we have seen many fantastic innovations from our participants,” said Dianne Kibbey, Global Head of Community and Social Media for the element14 Community. “We expect this challenge to showcase the bright minds of our community as they push the limits on the newly unlocked M0 Dual Core on the PSoC 62S4 with Infineon’s ModTools Platform.”

The “At the Core” Design Challenge encourages innovation and ingenuity amongst participants to take advantage of the Cortex-M0+ core’s low power modes and the Cortex-M4 core’s power. Low-power can be utilized in a variety of industrial design applications and projects.

Applications will close on November 24, 2022, and the challengers will be announced on November 28, 2022. The chosen challenge participants will have 11 weeks to work on and complete their projects and they will be due on February 6, 2023. The winners will be announced in February 2023.

Judges will evaluate the projects and award prizes to challenge winners. The first-place winner will receive a Microsoft Surface 256GB 16GB Ram Platinum valued over $1,000 and a Sonos One (Gen 2) Two Room Set Voice Controlled Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa Built in (2-Pack White). The runner up will receive a Microsoft Surface Go 3 – 10.5 Inch 2-in-1 Tablet PC – Silver – Intel Pentium Gold G5600, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD and Sonos One (Gen 2) – The Powerful Smart Speaker with Alexa Built-In, Black.
