PHOENIX – Hackster, an Avnet community, has launched a new global education campaign and contest in collaboration with Infineon, inviting engineers, developers and technologists to explore PSOC™ Edge technologies through an interactive learning experience called PSOC™ Edge City.
Over the course of a 12‑week journey, participants progress through curated learning modules and quizzes to build practical expertise in designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered applications using Infineon’s PSOC™ Edge MCUs. Along the way, participants can earn rewards—including opportunities to win one of 50 PSOC™ Edge AI Kits and exclusive Infineon swag by demonstrating their growing expertise. Participants will explore applications such as smart cities, industrial automation, intelligent interfaces, robotics and connected systems while deepening their understanding of Infineon technologies.
“We wanted to move beyond traditional training and create something that feels more like an experience” said Dianne Kibbey, Senior Director, Community Strategy and Hackster.io at Avnet. “This campaign is about empowering developers to learn, experiment, build, and discover what’s possible at the edge—while having fun doing it.”
Following the education giveaway phase, top performers will advance to the program’s final stage: the AI Arena “Boss Battle,” an interactive design challenge where developers put their new skills to the test by creating real-world Edge AI solutions using PSOC™ Edge hardware and software and competing alongside Infineon engineers. Blending hands-on education, community competition, and cyberpunk-inspired storytelling, PSOC™ Edge City transforms technical learning into an engaging, innovation experience for the next generation of edge AI developers.
Hackster will award prizes to top qualifying projects selected by Infineon judges. A limited number of PSOC™ Edge development kits will be provided through the education campaign and giveaway, with additional opportunities to engage through campaign content and community activities.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain global visibility through Hackster.io and Infineon’s ecosystem, with winning projects demonstrating how Edge AI can address real-world challenges.
