New Delhi – Shri Taranjeet Singh Sandhu, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, exhorted Indian ICT MSMEs and startups to get align with global supply chains to benefit from the enormous business opportunities.

He was inaugurating the 26th edition of INDIASOFT and the 11th India Electronics Expo in New Delhi today. India must move in value chain from destination for business process of outsourcing (BPO) to emerge as an innovation hub.

Highlighting the evolving nature of global trade, he noted, “Boundaries in business have not disappeared; they have become more layered spanning regulatory frameworks, data governance, supply chains, and geopolitical alignments. Business beyond boundaries is not about bypassing these constraints, but about understanding and aligning across them.”

He further added that “In this evolving landscape, technology particularly ICT plays a critical role in enabling seamless global engagement in areas like AI, R&D, innovation leveraging the talents, skill sets and the policy shifts. The bedrock of success in the emerging environment is cocreation, ensuring access to markets and empowerment of enterprises to take advantage of the market.

If India continues this shift, events like INDIASOFT 2026 and the 11th India Electronics Expo – organized by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) – will connect international players in software, electronics and new tech fields. These gatherings offer a space where companies can discuss joint projects and future directions. Now, the events focus on practical ways to grow cooperation across industries.

Reflecting on India’s technology journey, Shri Veer Sagar, Chairman, ESC, said, “India’s IT story has evolved from being a source of talent to becoming a source of solutions for the world. From the Y2K era to the digital revolution, the country has consistently transformed challenges into opportunities. Today, as artificial intelligence, deep tech, and electronics converge, India is not just ready to participate, but to lead.”

He added, “Platforms like INDIASOFT and India Electronics Expo are not just events; they are enablers of global partnerships, where technology becomes a tool, but trust and collaboration become the real drivers of progress.”

Providing a broader industry and policy perspective, Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI, highlighted the scale and transformation of India’s technology ecosystem. He said, “India’s technology exports have reached USD 224 billion, reflecting sustained growth and global competitiveness. What is equally important is the shift we are witnessing from IT and IT-enabled services to deep tech innovation, electronics manufacturing, and emerging technologies.”

He further noted, “With over 4,000 deep tech startups and increasing innovation emerging from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, India’s innovation ecosystem is becoming more inclusive and distributed. The focus now must be on taking these innovations to global markets and strengthening platforms that enable this transition.”

Highlighting India’s strengths in a rapidly changing global environment, Shri Sandeep Narula, Chairman, Global Outreach, ESC, outlined the country’s competitive advantage through what he described as the “DELTA” framework. He said, “India’s strength lies in its unique combination of demand and demographics, experience, labour, technology, and ambition. Together, these factors create a strong and resilient foundation for global partnerships.”

He added, “At a time when global systems are undergoing significant shifts, India offers stability, scale, and a forward-looking ecosystem. The growth we are witnessing in electronics manufacturing and exports reflects the beginning of a much larger transformation.”

Over the next three days, the events will host a wide range of engagements, including B2B meetings, product showcases, startup interactions, and industry dialogues, enabling participants to explore new markets, forge partnerships, and engage with India’s expanding technology ecosystem.

Concluding the inauguration, Shri Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director, ESC, emphasized the significance of the platform in shaping future collaborations. He said, “These are not just events; they are marketplaces of the future bringing together decades of trust, partnerships, and shared progress across software and electronics. India’s strength lies in its people, its innovation, and its ability to build solutions that impact lives globally.”

He added, “When India innovates, the world benefits. And when the world collaborates with India, innovation accelerates for everyone.”

As global systems evolve and new economic alignments emerge, platforms such as INDIASOFT and the India Electronics Expo continue to play a critical role in enabling businesses to move beyond traditional boundaries and build trusted, future-ready collaborations.
