Milton Keynes: Integrals Power has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of highly experienced automotive industry executive Tony Harper as senior advisor to the company’s advisory board.
Widely recognised as an expert in battery technology and electric vehicle development, he brings more than 40 years’ experience, including previous roles as JLR’s Director of Engineering Research, and Challenge Director for the Faraday Battery Challenge at UK Research and Innovation – a role that saw him responsible for the UK government’s £610 million investment in battery technology.

This wealth of knowledge and experience makes Tony Harper uniquely positioned to support Integrals Power in the successful scale-up of its business, secure new sources of public and private funding, forge new relationships and collaborations, identify locations for new facilities, and attract new customers for its range of cathode active materials. These include the highly cost-effective Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and breakthrough Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate, which uses 80% Manganese content to offer similar energy density to Nickel Manganese Cobalt chemistries, but for less cost and with greater robustness.

Integrals Power Founder and CEO, Behnam Hormozi, said: “We’re delighted that Tony Harper is joining us to help shape the next stage of our expansion. He is one of the most well-known and well-respected figures in the UK battery industry, and his knowledge and guidance will enable us to continue to grow strategically and sustainably – while remaining focused on cutting-edge innovation.
“In a short space of time, Integrals Power has established the UK’s first cathode active materials pilot plant, and developed and validated a Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate material that can revolutionise battery technology across a range of sectors, including automotive, marine, defence, and static energy storage. We’re now ready to move to the next level, and this appointment is fundamental to our future success.”
Commenting on his appointment, Tony Harper said: “Integrals Power is at the forefront of establishing a world-class battery supply chain in the UK, and I’m very proud to be playing a part in helping this pioneering company achieve its ambitions to successfully scale-up its operations and commercialise its technology. The opportunities are massive. By leveraging the right partnerships throughout industry and academia, working collaboratively with government at local and national level, and ensuring that the appropriate funding is in place, we can achieve sustainable growth and help accelerate the UK’s ability to prosper from the transition to a more sustainable future.”
