SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Luminus Devices has announced the release of its Generation 2 Warm Dimming COB (Chip on Board) LED modules, engineered to deliver an unparalleled lighting experience that mimics the warm, inviting glow of traditional incandescent and halogen sources while offering the efficiency and reliability of LED technology.
The new Generation 2 CDM series is available in three sizes – CDM-6, CDM-9, and CDM-14 – corresponding to Light Emitting Surface (LES) diameters of 6mm, 9mm, and 14mm respectively. Each module delivers exceptional flux density, with the CDM-14 producing up to 2768 lumens while maintaining impressive efficacy up to 125 lm/W at 3000K with a minimum 90 CRI. The Luminus dim-to-warm products operate with standard, single channel drivers and standard,
common dimming switches. “Our Generation 2 Warm Dimming modules represent a significant advancement in LED technology,” said Kenan Chen, Director of Product Marketing at Luminus. “By combining our proprietary IC circuit with advanced color engineering, we’ve created a solution that delivers the aesthetic qualities designers and consumers love about traditional lighting with all the benefits of state-of-the-art LEDs.”
The Generation 2 CDM series features a seamless dynamic color temperature shift, transitioning from 3000K to 1800K or 2700K to 1800K as they dim, creating inviting atmospheres perfect for hospitality, residential, and retail environments.
Each module includes:
- Proprietary IC circuit technology for smooth, flicker-free dimming at all levels
- Compatible with standard drivers and dimmer switches
- Superior beam uniformity with 10° narrow spot optics
- Hot tested at 85°C operating conditions
- Robust package design with L90 >36K hour rating
- DLC Premium
- Two dimming curve options: halogen-like (DWZ1) or linear-style (DWZ2)
Luminus is uniquely positioned as the only LED supplier offering a choice of dimming curves and color temperature ranges, providing lighting designers with unprecedented flexibility for diverse applications. Additionally, Luminus offers an ecosystem of verified compatible optics and holder combinations. This ecosystem produces exceptional color and brightness uniformity, simplifies assembly, and includes verified compatible dimmable drivers.
The CDM-6 and CDM-9 modules are available immediately through Luminus’ authorized distributors, with CDM-14 DWZ2 option scheduled for release in the second half of 2025.
