More MCUs, easier sharing and German and French language  available in latest revs of MIKROE’s NECTO Studio IDE

Monthly updates help building the best multi-architecture IDE

MIKROE, the embedded solutions company that dramatically cuts development time by providing innovative hardware and software products based on proven standards, has announced new releases of its multi-architectural IDE NECTO Studio.  Versions 7.5.0 and 7.5.1 adds compiler support for the Renesas RL78 LLVM and RX architectures, including 58 new MCUs and the fully integrated RL78 LLVM and RX GCC compiler toolchains. Therefore NECTO Studio users can now create, configure, build, and manage RL78 and RX projects within the same familiar development environment, reducing setup time and providing a consistent workflow across different MCU architectures.

A new Send to NECTO Chat action has been added to Project Explorer, enabling users to instantly share complete projects through NECTO Chat. Sharing a full project with a teammate or getting help now takes one click, instead of manually zipping and sending files. Also, sharing complete NECTO projects with a community is now built directly into NECTO Studio. A new ‘Upload Project’ action in ‘Project Explorer’ lets users upload the active project without manually creating archives or gathering project details. The dialogue is automatically populated with key project information, including Display Name, Project Version, active Project Configuration, and selected Click boards across mikroBUS slots. To support this new workflow, MIKROE has also extended the existing ‘Package Manager’ with a new ‘My Packages’ section, providing a central place to manage all uploaded projects.

MIKROE has also continued to expand the multilanguage support for the NECTO studio with the addition of German and French language capabilities.

Comments Neb Matic, MIKROE CEO & Founder of MIKROE: “We are constantly updating NECTO Studio, and release one new version every month. We include new features and coverage for more MCUs in pursuit of our goal to make NECTO Studio the world’s best multi-architectural IDE. However, users do not pay any extra for these upgrades and their license automatically includes the new software. All previously-developed designs will run within the new platforms as they are released.” Lastly, MIKROE’s  Remote Board Farm has been expanded with five new remote boards hosted by MIKROE, giving more users access to real embedded hardware for development, testing, and education. Adds Matic: “Hands-on embedded development is now more accessible to engineers and students worldwide, with more chances to grab a free board slot and test your code on real hardware remotely, no shipping or setup needed.”
