Mobfixer Academy launches Smartphone Chip-Level Training Program

Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LinkedIn

Bengaluru –  As India cements its position as the world’s second-largest smartphone manufacturer and one of the fastest-growing electronics markets globally, Mobfixer Academy today announced the launch of its comprehensive “Smartphone Chip-Level Training Program”, a specialized skill development initiative designed to create industry-ready technicians capable of advanced smartphone motherboard and chip-level repairs.

The Smartphone Chip Level Training Program covers Android and Premium mobile hardware and software repair, SMD soldering, BGA rework, IC replacement, motherboard diagnosis, DC power supply testing, microscope-based repair, chip-level troubleshooting, flashing, unlocking and advanced service-centre practices. Students are trained on industry-grade tools such as hot-air rework stations, microscopes, IC programmers, ultrasonic cleaners and BGA reballing kits.

The course is divided into four progressive levels. Level 1 focuses on basic mobile repair, diagnostics and hardware fundamentals. Level 2 covers intermediate component-level work, motherboard and display repair. Level 3 moves into advanced hardware, SMD work, reballing and IC replacement. Level 4 focuses on expert-level Android and premium flagship chip repair, advanced diagnostics and business operations.

“India’s mobile manufacturing success story has created a parallel need for a highly skilled repair workforce. Through our Smartphone Chip-Level Training Program, we aim to create a new generation of highly skilled professionals who can support India’s growing electronics ecosystem, build successful careers, and even become entrepreneurs. This initiative is aligned with the vision of Skill India and Atmanirbhar Bharat by creating job creators and skilled technical talent for domestic and international markets.” said Shamsudheen Chalil Founder & CEO.

As India cements its position as a global smartphone manufacturing hub, the demand for skilled chip-level repair professionals is growing rapidly. Designed to bridge this critical talent gap, the programme equips students with advanced smartphone repair expertise, supporting the goals of Skill India, Make in India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat while creating a future-ready workforce for the country’s expanding electronics ecosystem.

The training program is designed to be accessible to a broad range of learners including school and college students, graduates seeking employment, ITI and diploma holders, existing mobile technicians, mobile shop owners, Gulf returnees, entrepreneurs, and individuals looking for self-employment opportunities. No prior technical experience is required, making it a viable career pathway for youth from diverse educational and socio-economic backgrounds.

Graduates can pursue a variety of career opportunities including Mobile Service Centre Technician, Advanced Hardware Technician, Flagship Smartphone Specialist, Refurbishment Centre Expert, Freelance Repair Professional, Overseas Service Technician, or establish their own repair and refurbishment businesses. Depending on skill levels and specialization, income opportunities range from modest earnings for entry-level technicians to significantly higher compensation for chip-level and Premium smartphone experts. Entrepreneurs operating successful repair centres can earn substantially more, while overseas opportunities in markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Southeast Asia, and Europe can offer even greater earning potential.

The launch comes at a time when India’s repair economy is expected to see strong growth, driven by rising smartphone usage, higher device prices, longer replacement cycles and growing consumer preference for affordable repair over expensive replacements. According to industry estimates, India has an installed smartphone base exceeding 1.4 billion devices, with more than 200 million new smartphones sold annually. India’s smartphone repair market at over ₹150 billion, with fewer than 2% of mobile repair technicians currently trained at advanced chip or board level. This gap, it said, creates a strong income premium for qualified technicians.
