Nuvoton Technology Corporation has announced that its NuMicro® M2A23U series, specifically designed for automotive and industrial applications, has officially passed the rigorous AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualification. This high-performance MCU, powered by the Arm® Cortex®-M23 core running at up to 72 MHz, offers nearly double the processing speed of the previous M0A23 series, while delivering the uncompromising stability required for smart lighting, body control, and advanced automation systems.

Achieving AEC-Q100 certification provides the M2A23U with a significant advantage, combining automotive-grade design specifications with rigorous stress test validation. Established by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC), the AEC-Q100 is the industry-standard specification that ensures integrated circuits can perform reliably under the demanding conditions of automotive environments. The Grade 1 designation confirms the M2A23U’s ability to operate flawlessly within a wide ambient temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. By meeting these stringent requirements, the M2A23U series fulfills the automotive industry’s pursuit of “Zero Defects” and long-term operational stability.

The robust characteristics of the M2A23U extend beyond the vehicle, offering enhanced security of operation for industrial environments. Industrial automation sites often face harsh conditions similar to automotive settings, including extreme temperatures, vibration, and electrical noise. Featuring AEC-Q100 certification, the M2A23U offers rich interfaces and supports up to three sets of CAN FD. It is engineered to maintain peak precision and fluid performance in demanding industrial settings—including motor control and IoT applications—while effectively minimizing maintenance costs and the risk of unexpected downtime.

Nuvoton Technology remains steadfast in its commitment to product quality and safety. They are dedicated to providing semiconductor solutions that are not only innovative but also backed by high-level certifications. The successful AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualification of the M2A23U series underscores the promise to deliver reliable, long-lasting products for global partners.
