The Blue HMI developed by Minebea Intec – a modern, scalable user interface for industrial applications such as dynamic checkweighing, Static Weighing or recipe management – was officially honoured at the Red Dot Award Gala in the “Konzerthaus Berlin”. Sebastian Pedroß, Director Partner Programme & Manager Product Management Industrial Scales, accepted the design trophy on behalf of the Minebea Intec team. “The Red Dot Award is a special honour for our joint work on Blue HMI,” says Sebastian Pedroß. “The project impressively demonstrates what is possible when cross-functional teams combine their perspectives: technical excellence, user-orientated design and a clear vision interlocked perfectly. My thanks go to all colleagues who made this success possible with their commitment and team spirit.”
Award ceremony in a festive setting
Following the jury’s decision, which was published in the summer, the award ceremony took place on 7 November. The Red Dot Gala is regarded as a central meeting point for the international design scene and recognises projects that combine design quality and functional strength. For Minebea Intec, the official award marks an important step in the further development of modern, intuitive solutions for industrial processes.
Recognition for user-orientated development
Blue HMI was designed and realised together with the UX/UI specialist HMI Project, combining intuitive user guidance (UX) with a clear and visually structured interface (UI). In its statement, the jury particularly emphasised the clear structure, the consistent user guidance and the scalability of the operating concept. The platform also impressed with its modern visualisation elements, consistent navigation logic, adaptive layouts for different display sizes and the ability to make complex process data intuitively understandable in real time. “The aim of Blue HMI is to make industrial processes simpler, more efficient and safer – regardless of industry or applications,” says Sebastian Pedroß. “The user interface is integrated on most of our Checkweighers and Weight indicators, among others.”
