Ottobrunn, Germany – Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH today announced the retirement of its President and CEO, Johannes Spatz, effective 30 September 2026, following more than 27 years of service within Panasonic and over a decade of leadership in Europe. Before taking on this role, Spatz served for several years as CEO of Panasonic Electric Works Europe AG (PEWEU) in Holzkirchen.
Under his leadership, Panasonic Industry Europe was established at its current Ottobrunn location in 2017, bringing together several business units, including Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Europe (PIDSEU), based in Haar. This was followed by the merger of PEWEU and PIEU into one company in October 2022. Throughout this period, the company strengthened its position as a trusted partner for customers across a broad range of industries, while successfully navigating significant transformation and organizational change.
Effective 1 October 2026, Kosuke Akiyoshi will assume the role of President of Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH. Akiyoshi brings more than three decades of experience within Panasonic, having held senior leadership positions in sales, marketing and international management. His career includes assignments in Europe and Asia, most recently serving as Global Sales Director of Panasonic Industry’s Industrial Devices Business Division.
The appointment reflects Panasonic Industry’s commitment to continuity, long-term growth and closer alignment between its European operations and global business organization. With extensive international experience and deep knowledge of the industrial market, Akiyoshi will continue Panasonic Industry Europe’s focus on delivering value to customers, supporting innovation and strengthening partnerships throughout the region.
