TOKYO – SEMICON Japan 2025, the region’s premier microelectronics industry conference and exhibition, opens on Wednesday, December 17 at Tokyo Big Sight. This year’s event will feature two new summits, the AI x Sustainability x Semiconductor (AIS) Summit and the Metrology and Inspection (MIS) Summit. In addition, the annual exhibition will host a variety of seminars by leading semiconductor experts, over 1,200 exhibitors from 35 countries, and pavilions specializing in various themes and regional activities, greatly expanding on the scope of the previous event. - Global Semiconductor Executive Summit AI x Sustainability x Semiconductors
This session will bring together leading global companies to delve into how AI, sustainability, and semiconductors will interact and shape the society and economy of the future. NVIDIA, imec, Micron, and Intel will be taking the stage to address rapidly evolving AI technology, the transition to a sustainable society, and innovation in the semiconductor industry.
- Next-generation Semiconductor Technology 1: Device Edition
From AI, HPC, data centers, autonomous vehicles and more, semiconductor devices are evolving every day to meet demands of chip scaling and performance. This session will feature global companies including TSMC, Preferred Networks, SanDisk, and IBM, that lead the development of cutting-edge devices such as memory, logic, and AI chips. Company representatives will share their perspectives on technology innovation driving next-generation processes, architectures, and challenges.
- Next-generation Semiconductor Technology 2: Equipment and Materials
As semiconductors continue to shrink, become more powerful, and support three-dimensional structures, continued innovation in equipment and materials is increasingly critical. This session will explore technological trends and the future of semiconductor manufacturing, from both the equipment and materials perspectives, and will feature experts from Lam Research, JX Nippon Mining & Metals, Fujifilm, and Disco.

- The Frontline of AI: A New Era Opened up by Technological Innovation
This session will delve into the current state and future outlook of AI, and the role Japan must play in this wave of technological innovation. In addition, leaders from Japan and abroad will introduce the leading-edge of fundamental technologies that support AI, such as infrastructure, semiconductors, and communications – providing technical and strategic perspectives on realizing an AI society. - Generative AI: Policy, Hardware Design, Platform, Application – Infinite Creativity and Possibilities
Generative AI is rapidly advancing in fields such as text, images, and voice, and is becoming a driving force behind change in society and industry. This session will explore generative AI technology and its social and industrial impact, with leading companies from Japan and abroad discussing the possibilities, challenges, and future prospects of this disruptive technology.
- Advanced Packaging and Chiplet Summit 2025
In the three innovative fields of light, vehicles, and AI that will support society in the future, this program will explore future efforts to achieve sustainability and expectations for advanced semiconductor and chiplet technologies, as well as industry challenges and the direction of standardization from the perspectives of materials and equipment.

This session will examine the progress of Japan’s “Semiconductor and Digital Industrial Strategy” and explore the direction of policy and its impact on the industry. Speakers will share the latest trends and future prospects, with a view to the global contribution of Japan’s semiconductor industry. This will be a valuable opportunity for management and planning staff involved in industrial strategy to see the current state and future of their strategies.
- Grand Finale: The Future of the Semiconductor Supply Chain: The Challenge of Sustainability
How can we achieve sustainable growth amidst a rapidly changing market environment and societal demands? With the major themes of “green” and “sustainability” at the core, this program will explore the challenges and new possibilities facing the industry and present a vision for the next era. This event will provide participants with a valuable opportunity to gain new perspectives and inspiration, as well as to show the direction of change in the semiconductor industry.

ADIS – The Era of Semiconductor Design
Semiconductors and software are becoming increasingly important in system development. The field of semiconductor design has evolved significantly in recent years, and advances in EDA tools (such as the use of AI and digital twins) have supported this evolution. This discussion will provide insight into fundamental issues such as what to design and how to strategically link it to the business. The latest exhibits and networking opportunities will be provided by companies involved in EDA, IP, device and board design.
- Workforce Development: These programs support early career professionals who will lead the industry in the future.
- Thursday Wakamono Night, a forum highlighting a new project to engage students and young employees.

- The College of Technology exhibits technology and research results of young students.
- Academia exhibition of semiconductor research wil present results by 68 university laboratories across Japan, and the Academia Award recognizing outstanding research.

- Two new projects include: The Game, which uses a card game as teaching material to learn about semiconductor architecture design through a simulated experience, and Circuit Design (sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), a competition aimed at students who will be responsible for the future of semiconductor design.
- In addition, the Semiconductors & e-Sports section will introduce the intersection between the latest games and semiconductor technology and will also feature an exhibition by professional players. There will be a photo opportunity and merchandise shop featuring artist BAKENEKO.
