For RF and microwave engineers, a Vector Network Analyser is not a luxury. It is the important instrument of the design, validation, and production workflow. VNA enables user in Characterising S-parameters, mapping impedance behaviour, quantifying insertion loss, measuring VSWR, and performing Time Domain Reflectometry are tasks that demand precision, stability, and a display large enough to present multiple measurement windows simultaneously.

The series launches with two models, differing only in upper frequency range:

  • SNA5003X-E —  9 kHz to 3 GHz
  • SNA5006X-E —  9 kHz to 6.5 GHz

Both instruments share an identical feature set and measurement architecture, with frequency range as the sole differentiator. This allows procurement teams to select the model matched precisely to their application requirements.

12.1-Inch Multi-Touch Display

The choice of display size is not cosmetic , it is always  functional. VNA users routinely need to monitor multiple traces, Smith charts, polar plots, and tabular data simultaneously. The SNA5000X-E’s 12.1-inch capacitive touchscreen provides the real estate to do so without window-switching, while its multi-touch interface provides ease of operation.

Standard Built-In Bias Tee

A built-in Bias Tee is included as standard enabling in-circuit measurement of active devices such as amplifiers and transistors without additional external components.

Advanced Analysis Capabilities

The SNA5000X-E supports a comprehensive set of analysis functions, available as selectable options:

  • Time Domain Analysis (TDA) — for fault location and impedance discontinuity identification along transmission lines and cables.
  • Enhanced Time Domain / TDR — with built-in eye diagram function for high-speed signal integrity analysis and PCB interconnect evaluation.
  • Spectrum Analysis (SA) — extending the instrument’s utility beyond VNA measurements to general-purpose RF signal monitoring.

These capabilities collectively position the SNA5000X-E as a multi-function RF measurement platform rather than a single-purpose VNA.

Connectivity & Automation

For production and automated test environments, the SNA5000X-E integrates seamlessly into both manual and remotely controlled workflows:

  • Interfaces: USB Host & Device, LAN (Ethernet), HDMI output
  • Remote Control: SCPI command set, WebServer interface, LabVIEW, and IVI driver support

This wide connectivity positions the SNA5000X-E as an important instrument for  automated test systems, relevant to production QA, incoming component inspection.
