TOKYO – TAIYO YUDEN CO., LTD. has added the new “LCXN_T series” of wire-wound ferrite power inductors to its portfolio, which comply with the AEC-Q200 qualifications for automotive passive components.
The LCXN_T series power inductors are designed for use as choke coils and noise filters in DC-DC converters in power circuits for automotive body and information systems.
The LCXN_T series includes 15 newly commercialized items, such as the “LCXND4040TKL1R0NNT,” which extends the upper operating temperature limit to 150°C from the conventional product “LCXND4040TKL1R0NDG” (4.0 x 4.0 x 1.8 mm, operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C).
The LCXN_T series power inductors have been manufactured by our overseas subsidiary, TAIYO YUDEN (Philippines) (Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu) since July 2025. Samples are available for 50 yen per unit.

Technology Background
The advancements that we have seen in recent years in electronic controls in production vehicles, as typified by ADAS units, have led to a greater number of power supply circuits on vehicles, which in turn has led to growth in the demand for power inductors that are used in these circuits. Such power supply circuits require compact power inductors to enable both design flexibility and high-density mounting. Components mounted at high density become more susceptible to the effects of heat, as the reduced circuit footprint makes it more difficult for heat generated by the components to dissipate. Thus, components to be mounted at high density must be able to withstand high temperatures.
For this requirement, TAIYO YUDEN has commercialized the “LCXN_T series,” an extension of the LCXN series, which features a sleeveless structure, compact size and high current capability. With high-temperature-compatible materials, the LCXN_T series features a higher operating temperature of 150°C.
TAIYO YUDEN focuses on the development of products that meet market needs, and will continue to expand its power inductor product lineup.

■ Application
The LCXN_T series power inductors are applicable as choke coils and noise filters in DC-DC converters in power circuits for automotive body and information systems.
