Tata Electronics and Kelington Collaborate to Accelerate Operational Readiness of Dholera Fab

New Delhi (INDIA) – Tata Electronics, a pioneering leader in India’s electronics and semiconductor manufacturing sector, and Kelington, a leading Malaysian integrated engineering solutions provider, today, announced a collaboration to advance the development of Tata Electronics’ Fab in Dholera, Gujarat. As part of the collaboration, Kelington will support the delivery of critical infrastructure and systems required for semiconductor manufacturing. The partnership will enable Tata Electronics to accelerate the facility’s operational readiness for silicon wafer production.

The partnership will also explore the development of local talent and advanced design and build engineering capabilities in India. The alliance reflects the shared commitment of both companies to supporting India’s growing semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and will be a key enabler to the timely execution of the Dholera Fab project.

Dr. Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD, Tata Electronics, said: “Building a semiconductor Fab requires collaboration across an extensive ecosystem of partners with deep technical expertise. Tool hook-up is a critical element in establishing a reliable, efficient, and high-performance Fab environment, enabling seamless integration of sophisticated equipment and supporting operational excellence from day one. We are pleased to partner with Kelington as we advance the development of our semiconductor Fab in Dholera, Gujarat. Together, we will create a world-class semiconductor manufacturing environment that will contribute to India’s semiconductor ambitions, and our goal of timely delivery of high-quality chips for our global customers.”

Mr. Lim Seng Chuan, Group CEO, Kelington, said: “The proposed partnership for Tata Electronics’ Dholera facility has been envisioned to support the exacting requirements of semiconductor manufacturing. We are pleased to partner with Tata Electronics on this landmark project. With our shared commitment to excellence in execution, this alliance with support the development of critical infrastructure for the Dholera facility and contribute to the growth of India’s semiconductor industry.”

The chip manufacturing facility in Dholera forms a cornerstone of Tata Electronics’ semiconductor manufacturing ambitions. Backed by a planned investment of US$11 billion, the 12-inch (300 mm) Fab will produce semiconductor products, across a wide range of applications, including automotive, mobile devices, and artificial intelligence, for domestic and global customers.
