Littelfuse and IXYS are brands with a strong position in the semiconductor market, which, by joining forces, offer a wide range of innovative power electronics solutions. IXYS, known for its efficient semiconductors, has been providing power components for industries, automotive, and renewable energy for years. Meanwhile, Littelfuse, by acquiring IXYS in 2018, strengthened its market position by enriching its portfolio with advanced IXYS technologies.

Currently, the products of both brands, combined under the Littelfuse banner, provide reliable solutions in the areas of energy efficiency and power control. These include a wide range of unipolar transistors, which are an essential component of modern electronic systems.

Unipolar transistors are field-effect transistors (FETs) that use a single type of charge carrier—either electrons or holes—to control current flow. Their operation is based on regulating the conductivity of the channel between the source and the drain under the influence of voltage applied to the gate, enabling precise current control. The most common type of these transistors is MOSFET (metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor), which features fast switching, low power losses, and the ability to operate at high voltages and currents.

TME offers IXYS unipolar transistors, where the substrate is doped with acceptors, and the drain and source with donors (P-MOSFET). N-MOSFET transistors, with the source and drain doped with acceptors and the substrate with donors, are also available.

When choosing a MOSFET, key factors to consider include voltage ratings, current capacity, power dissipation, and on-resistance, which affects efficiency. Littelfuse/IXYS transistors excel in these areas, with excellent thermal performance and durability. Their versatility makes them ideal for use in industries such as automotive, renewable energy, consumer electronics, and industrial automation. Thanks to these features, Littelfuse/IXYS unipolar transistors are an excellent choice for applications where efficiency and reliability are paramount. These high-quality transistors are available at TME, offering a reliable solution for energy-efficient and precise electronic systems.
